Assignments from the Virginia Land Office, 1775-1903.

These records contain unidentified and unsupported assignments, most of which are from the 18th century. Some of the assignments are for lands due under preemption warrants or warrants issued for colonial war service while the balance is for treasury warrants. One indenture, recorded in Philadelphia in 1785, applies to nineteen surveys on file in the Land Office. The period covered is 1775-1776; 1779; 1783-1787; 1791; 1794; 1796; 1830; 1845; 1903.
